How to remove Windows 7 is not genuine 0xC004F200

Dear all,
First time your computer is set up from the computer shop and it is working properly. The windows they installed for you is not a genuine version. After installing Windows update KB971033.
Every time you start pc you always see the annoying screen.

1. 1st screen
Windows is not genuine
Your computer might be running a counterfeit copy of Windows

Get genuine now
Ask me later

0xC004F200

2. Second screen

3. Third screen

4. 4th Screen next to the clock you see as below

5. When you right click on My Computer you see as below. "You must activate today..." 


****SOLUTION****

Step 1: Disconnect internet

Step 2: Go to Control Panel > Uninstall a program > Click View installed updates

Under Microsoft Windows > Find KB971033 > and Uninstall this update. 


Step 3: Turn off Windows Updates
Go to Control Panel> Windows update > Change setting and select"Never check for updates" > OK

Step 4: Rearm Windows
Click Start > Type "cmd" > Right-click on cmd > Choose Run as administrator 

Type in > slmgr -rearm then reboot your pc. You're done.


NOTE: After restarting the pc you'll see Windows is activated. By right-clicking on My Computer and choose Properties. Make sure your computer is not "Turn on Windows update" by verifying Step 3.

    hey dude the slmgr -rearm is not working. When i type that command I get this mess "slmgr -rearm" is not recognized as an internal or external operable program or batch file.

      In file explorer, set to SHOW protected system files AND hidden files and folders.
      Go to \windows\system32 and/or \windows\syswow64
      and you will notice that slmgr has been renamed to slmgr.removewat

      Change the extension back to .VBS and you are good to go.

      search windows folder for almger.vbs and see where it will be found
      in cmd change folder to where you found the slmgr.vbs by CD command
      LIKE cd c:\windows\syswow64\
      syswow64 was the folder I had found my slmgr and you should use the address of yours.
      then use the command as said
      slmgr -rearm

    In my case, I must move folder to "C:\Windows\system32\Wat\"
    before executing "slmgr -rearm "
    if not do that, it will show it can't identify slmgr this command~~~

    Well, everything worked except it's still not activated. It says I have 30 days to activate which can only mean I'm running a trial version and I will have to face the same issues again.

      after reboot. Open CMD as admin once again. type in slmgr -ato That's the activation command. (slmgr(space)-ato)

    Excellent - Thanks for the service. Hope this permanently stops the screens above from appearing. My original computer name and registration are back after having originally had a 64 bit version of Windows 7 but my hard drive failed so I had a 32 bit version installed! I upgraded back to 64 bit using a copy and that is when the not genuine Windows problem started.
    Will I be able to re-activate Windows Updates now that this action has been taken?

    hello thanks for the post. I just read your post.
    I had window 7 genuine problem so i did slmgr - rearm and it solves the problem.
    however it only last a month then go back to genuine problem again. I did the same things three times. Now window did not allow to do slmgr- rearm becuase the maximum allowed number of re- arm is exeeded. Basing on this post, i realized that i did not turn off window upate. So please advise is there any way can still solve this issue. appreciate it.

    great tutorial!...i have gotten myself in a fix..
    I knew about the rearm method. So i did it 3 times. After that there was a message shown that the max limit of rearming is reached (3). So i searched more and saw that u can reset the count. After doing that rearm worked. there was no error message but when i restarted the "windows is not genuine" was still there...
    after that i saw about the uninstalling of the update as u have mentioned above. I did that...without switching off the internet. And then reset the count again. And then rearmed again. Then restarted. Still no luck..any ideas?

    if it says 'slmgr -rearm' is not recognized as...', then all you have to do is RUN the CMD as ADMINISTRATOR. If you hold CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER when choosing it from the Start Menu, it will run as administrator. Or you can right click CMD to choose this. For me, that did the trick.

    May be someone change file name of slmgr in the folder system32 to be "slmgr.vbs.watremove"
    Try to rename to slmgr.vbs
    Then try run cmd again. And type command in.

    I can't believe some of what I'm reading here... "fix your windows7 not genuine error" ??? When did this become an error? How can the message from a correctly functioning Software Licensing Management Tool be described as an error?
    The method being described here is only a means of extending the software's trial period.
    1. Remove the activation update KB971033
    2. Turn off automatic updates so KB971033 does not auto-install
    3. I suppose wait till the 120 day limit is reached and hey, here we go again or the inevitable happens, a newer activation update surfaces and the process repeats (unless nobody has reactivated automatic updates). Whatever happens the problem will NOT be solved completely until the software is made legal.
    Would it not be easier to just stick to the genuine pre-installed OS of the given machine or to obtain a genuine copy of the desired system? Like with motor insurance etc. prices could be lower if everyone paid their share!
    In this world however I think not but.... at least some installations can not be retrospectively activated resulting in data loss for some of those users, precious photos lost... memories... music...

    For those who are having the problem with the slmgr.vbs -rearm console command, this is how I fixed it. Navigate to C:\Windows\System32 and search for a file named slmgr.vbs.removewat and rename it to slmgr.vbs , rerun the command and that should fix it.

    This only works if you had a "real" activation serial #, to begin with. Mine never did for 10 yrs. All these apps "and there are at least a hundred", don't help, including editing the registry and using, KMS, and using all the rest. ou need a serial number at some point, also arming stops and you have to keep doing it.

    I bought my Windows 7 key license on earlier this year and I have not had an activating problem.
    should just find the iso operating system (I have downloaded from the Microsoft site, I do not know if is also easy for Windows 7 key), the site provides links but I think probably not in French.
